Collagen

The structural protein found in the skin, tendons and joints, studied in the form of peptides for joint comfort.

Joints

Benefits

  • Designed to support joint and tendon comfort
  • Developed to support skin elasticity
  • Provides specific amino acids (glycine, proline)

Precautions

Incomplete protein: does not replace a complete source of protein (whey, egg, meat). Of animal origin (bovine or marine).

Recommended dosage

10 to 15 g of collagen peptides per day; approximately 40 minutes before exercise for the tendon component

Did you know?

Supplementation with collagen peptides combined with resistance training increases lean body mass, but not muscle fibre size, suggesting an adaptation of the connective tissues.

What the studies say

  • This clinical study investigated the effect of daily supplementation with 2.5 g of porcine collagen peptides on atherosclerosis in healthy older adults. A significant reduction in baPWV, a marker of atherosclerosis, was observed in the collagen group compared with the placebo group. These results suggest that porcine collagen peptides may help prevent atherosclerosis in older adults.
